Who We Are
About Timepack, Corrugated Packaging Manufacturers Since 1994
Timepack (Pty) Ltd is a South African corrugated packaging manufacturer, trading as Time Packaging cc since 1994 from a factory at 156 Greenvale Rd, Meadowbrook, Gauteng. The company designs, manufactures and delivers corrugated boxes, and supplies the rest of the packing station, to businesses across Johannesburg and nationally. It is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and FSSC 22000, and is rated B-BBEE Level 2.
What Timepack does
Timepack is an independent manufacturer rather than a reseller, which means the board is converted, printed, cut and delivered by the same company that quoted it. The range covers conventional and die-cut corrugated boxes, plain or printed, in E, B, C and BC double-wall board with kraft or white liner. Alongside the corrugated, the business supplies poly bags, tubing, liners, sheeting, tape, strapping, pallet wrap and void fill, so a customer consolidating this spend places one order and receives one invoice.
Everything is made to order. Timepack holds no standard stock, which is why a quote begins with a box style, internal dimensions and a quantity rather than a catalogue number.
The factory and what it can do
Production runs in-house at Timepack from design through to dispatch. Packaging is designed and 3D-sampled before any tooling is cut, so a customer approves a physical sample rather than a drawing. Printing is flexographic, direct onto the corrugated, in up to four colours on sheets to 2 750 mm by 1 150 mm. Die-cutting runs on rotary, platen and roller press; gluing is computerised automatic and semi-automatic; stitching is semi-auto and long-arm for tall cartons.
The plant runs on solar, grid and generator power, so production continues through load-shedding rather than pausing for it. Delivery is on the company fleet across Johannesburg and the surrounding areas, which keeps the delivery date out of a third-party courier queue.
Certifications and accreditation
Timepack holds ISO 9001:2015 for quality management and FSSC 22000 for food safety management. FSSC 22000 is the certification that matters for food-contact packaging such as pizza boxes and produce cartons: it means the process is independently audited rather than self-declared, and the certificate can be supplied for a customer own food safety audit file.
The company is rated B-BBEE Level 2 under the South African broad-based black economic empowerment codes, which determines the procurement recognition a customer may claim on spend with Timepack. Copies of all certificates are available on request.
How Timepack works with customers
Timepack sells business to business, and the first conversation is usually a specification rather than a price list. To quote, the company needs the box style, internal dimensions in millimetres, quantity per order, board grade preference, printing requirements and a delivery address. Experienced consultants review the requirement and will say where a different board grade or box style costs less without weakening the pack.
Minimum orders generally start from around 500 square metres of board, which converts to a different unit count depending on how big the box is. Standard lead time is 10 to 12 working days. Printed orders need a print stereo, a once-off tooling cost, which adds 3 to 5 working days from artwork approval before the box lead time starts.
Where Timepack is
The Timepack factory is at 156 Greenvale Rd, Wilbart Ext 8, Meadowbrook, Gauteng, South Africa — on the boundary between Edenvale and Germiston, which is why the address appears under both names in directories. Own-fleet delivery covers Johannesburg and the surrounding areas, and orders are supplied nationally.
The business is privately held and has traded from this location since 1994.
