Edge Protectors and Corner Pieces

Edge protectors, also called angle board or edge board, are L-shaped strips that reinforce the corners and edges of cartons and pallet loads, so strapping, stacking and handling do not crush them. Timepack holds them in kraft or white liner from 30 × 30 mm to 70 × 70 mm, and cuts them to the length you need.

Edge Protectors provide added strength and protection to the corners and edges of cartons, pallets, and packaged goods during storage and transportation. They help prevent crushing, denting, and damage caused by strapping, stacking, and handling.

Available in Kraft and White Liner finishes, edge protectors improve load stability and can reduce product damage while in transit.

  • Sizing Guide

Edge Protectors are sized according to the leg dimensions and wall thickness. For example, a 30mm x 30mm x 2mm protector has two 30mm legs forming a 90° angle with a 2mm wall thickness.

Available in a range of standard sizes and supplied in Kraft or White Liner finishes. Lengths can be cut to your specific requirements. Minimum order quantities apply for custom lengths.

What edge protectors do

An edge protector takes the load where a carton or pallet is weakest. It stops strapping cutting into the edges, helps prevent crushing and denting from stacking and handling, and improves load stability, which can reduce damage in transit.

How edge protectors are sized

Edge protectors are sized by leg and wall thickness. A 30 × 30 × 2 mm protector has two 30 mm legs at a 90° angle and a 2 mm wall. The 40 × 40 × 3 mm profile is held in fixed lengths from 300 mm to 2.4 m, and other profiles are cut to your length, where minimum order quantities apply.

Corner pieces

Corner pieces are corrugated corners that protect a product’s own corners and edges from knocks and scratches during handling, storage and transport. They are lightweight and recyclable, and come in sizes to suit the product, in E-flute and B-flute.

Securing the rest of the load

Edge protectors usually go on with strapping and layer pads.
